JOEL SILVER: "MATRIX 2 'ACTION PACKED'" >Source: PopCorn.uk

Producer Joel Silver believes that the fight sequences in the 'Matrix' Sequels will surpass those seen in 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon':

"The 'Matrix' sequel is so beyond anything you could ever imagine, it is really staggering what we are going to do on that movie," the big-shot action producer states. "People are not going to believe it, but that's what we have to do because a lot has happened since the first 'Matrix' movie and now we have to be ahead of the wave."

Fight Choreographer Woo-Ping, who worked on both 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' and the first 'Matrix', will also choreograph the fights in the sequels:

"I think we're all working with the same people, in the same arena, but we're using it in different ways, which is good," Silver believes. "Ang Lee used Woo-Ping in 'Crouching Tiger', but it's a very different kind of movie, it's a very artistic, very aesthetic picture. These [Matrix] movies are far harder, more action-packed."

COMIC ARTISTS ABOUT THE MATRIX 2 >Source: Comics Continuum

According to Steve Skroce and Geof Darrow, comics artists returning to work on 'The Matrix' sequels, the sequels will easily outdo the first.

"I've seen some footage and it's fantastic," said Skroce, who is again doing storyboards. "The little they've shot so far, over the last month or so, is so sweet. "I would be very surprised if any of the Matrix fans aren't satisfied with the new ones."

Skroce had this to say about working with the Wachowski Brothers:

"I'll keep doing sketches until the shot is exactly the way they want. The movie really does come out of their brains. I'm the translator; that's how I would describe it. We go through an immense amount of detail doing the boards correctly."

ANOTHER ADDITION TO THE CAST >Source: Dark Horizons

Short news: Steve Bastoni has joined the cast as a villain. No word yet on what villian he will play (Agent, Virii, or something totally new). That was it...

MORE PIECES OF THE PLOT >Source: Matrix Trilogy

In addition to the plot spoiler I gave you last week, Matrix Trilogy came up with this. Again, if you don't want to read it, don't read it.

According to the Matrix Trilogy Fan Page, the story involves the Matrix fighting back against the growing underground rebellion by unleashing these computer virus agents who basically have the same powers as Neo and their 'infecting' of this world is causing it to fall apart - so much so the Agents eventually turn against them. Neo gets infected and can't access the matrix with his special powers thus must hook up with Morpheus' girlfriend in the real world to find the Robots CPU and destroy the virus' source. Meantime Trinity & Morpheus are trapped inside the Matrix fighting the creatures who, like a virus, can multiply and are very hard to kill (eg. their cut off appendages form into new viruses).

INTERVIEW WITH JADA PINKETT-SMITH

Cindy Pearlman managed to catch up with Jada Pinkett Smith to talk about the currently shooting Matrix sequels. Here's Cindy's report: Hanging out with Jada Pinkett Smith has taken on all new meaning these days. The best way to catch Will Smith's better half is when she's 12 feet up in the air, suspended by wires. Some call this nuts. She calls it training for Matrix 2 and Matrix 3.

"I'm really not suppose to tell you ANYTHING about it," Pinkett moans. But Cin City never says never when it comes to prying secrets out of stars. First of all, Pinkett mentions that learning to do all the wire work for the complex stunts is one big "ow" fest. "I'm in a warehouse of pain," says Pinkett Smith. "I've spent the morning doing kung fu kicks, punches and flips. I want to cry." She plays Niobi, the new addition to the Matrix team. Good girl? Bad girl? "She's a good person, I guess. And she really kicks some butt. She's tough for a reason. She hangs with Trinity (Carrie Anne-Moss). They're side by side to save the universe," says Pinkett.

Smith is filming the back to back sequels in Oakland and then she's off to Australia. "We're shooting both at the same time," she divulges. As for working with the cool filmmakers, the Wachowski brothers (Larry and Andy), she gushes, "I love the boys. They're very creative." In fact, the brothers almost cast Smith in the first movie. "I auditioned extensively to play Trinity back when Val Kilmer was signed to play what became the Lawrence Fishburne role. But then they found Carrie-Anne."

The boys waited for Pinkett-Smith to have her daughter in order to cast her in the sequel. "I got this call saying, 'You're pregnant right now, but we want to start Matrix 2 and 3,'" Pinkett recalls. "I said, 'You guys know me. I know how to get down. The minute I have this baby, I will kick ass and work out like a mad women.' The boys were like, 'So when are you dropping this baby?' I started training three months after giving birth." Sounds perfect -- except for one glitch. "My husband Will has said, 'Honey, is there a role in those Matrix movies for me?'" Afterall, he helped Jada get a cameo in the upcoming Ali. But she says, "There's no room for Will in Matrix yet. Our son Trey is like, 'First, Daddy, I want a part. It's my favorite movie.'"

CARRIE-ANNE ALREADY TIRED

In an interview, Carrie-Anne Moss had a few things to say about the 'Matrix' and its sequels: But her efforts next will be focused on the highly anticipated sequels to The Matrix. She calls the original "very philosophical. I think that's why people responded to it so much. There's a lot of myth in it. It's metaphysical, it's spiritual, it's religious." She's limited in what she's allowed to say about the next installments, per the writer/directors' requests, but she can confide about the training rigors. "It's physically demanding beyond anything I could ever have imagined," she says. "Kung fu, stretching, kicking, punching, walking on the treadmill, doing weights, Pilates ... I'm in pretty good shape, but it's almost irrelevant. It's so hard. You can be in great shape just working out an hour and a half a day. Training for a movie after this, like training to actually look good, will be easy. I'll be filing my nails while I do it."

MAJOR PLOT SPOILER

!!- DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW A THING ABOUT STORYLINE OF "THE MATRIX 2" -!!

At the start of the film, Neo is in the matrix meeting with the oracle, she tells him there is trouble coming, and that People are going to have to be very resilient in the days ahead. He doesn't understand exactly what she means, until all hell breaks loose and the agents begin attacking, but instead of using typical agents they are using Virii, here we see some of the zero G kung fu in a big scene where all hell is breaking loose.

The Virii are different from the agents, they affect the matrix substantially, creating things as they wish just as Neo does, and worse infecting it so that slowly it begins to fall apart. (NOTE: the fire hydrant in the phone booth) Since the agents created the Virii their job is to infect Neo so that he can't fight or move inside the matrix. In other words the virii are bad for the Matrix, but the agents believe it is the only way to flush out neo and the rebels. Neo does in fact become infected by the virus and gets booted out of the matrix, unable to reenter until the virus is stopped. However it is the exact opposite for the others (TRINITY, and MORPHEUS) who can‚t get out since the hard-line has been infected as well.

KEANU'S GIRLFRIEND DIES IN CRASH

Keanu's Reeves's girlfriend has been killed in a car accident. Jennifer Syme, a 29-year-old record industry worker, died instantly when she was thrown from her car after hitting three parked cars at 6:20am on Monday morning. The Matrix star was reportedly devastated after her mother broke the news to him. The couple were heartbroken last year when Syme gave birth to their stillborn baby girl. The pair had no plans to marry at the time and after the birth their relationship cooled. But they weathered the tragedy and their relationship grew stronger.

Our condolences to Keanu Reeves, the family and friends of Jennifer Syme.

It has now been confirmed that the Australian leg of shooting on "The Matrix" sequels, will be delayed.

AGENTS GET COMPANY FROM "VIRII" >Source: Aint it cool

Finally, not only do we get to see these strange Silvermen that we have been hearing about, but we now know who they are. Turns out that they are physical representations of computer viruses (virii) They looked magnificent in their flowing silver trench coats(which they are seen here not wearing). It took 2 hours each day to get the virii into their makeup, and another two hours to get them out.
