"Given the enormous popularity and success of the 'Matrix' films throughout
the international community, we're thrilled that we can bring the final chapter
of this amazing trilogy to fans simultaneously around the world," Kwan-Rubinek
said. "We thank our exhibitors for their unqualified support in staging this
extraordinary event."
"The zero hour simultaneous opening of 'Revolutions' once again positions the
'Matrix' films as the cutting edge experience in motion pictures," Fellman added.
"Audiences came out to see 'The Matrix Reloaded' in record numbers, and we appreciate
the enthusiasm, collaboration and support of our exhibitors in helping us bring
'The Matrix Revolutions' to audiences on November 5."
"We received such an overwhelming response to 'Reloaded' from audiences around
the globe that the Wachowski Brothers wanted to give our fans the chance to
experience the final piece of the 'Matrix' puzzle at the same time in every
major city worldwide," said Joel Silver, producer of the phenomenal "Matrix"
trilogy. "It's an incredibly complex and exciting venture that furthers the
Wachowskis' vision and underscores the trilogy's theme of integration."

making it the highest-grossing film of 2003 and the highest-grossing R-rated

event film is released concurrently in 35mm and IMAX's revolutionary 15/70 format.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures previously collaborated
with IMAX on the hugely successful release of "The Matrix Reloaded: The IMAX
Experience," which debuted on 39 IMAX screens on June 6, launching three weeks
after the 35mm theatrical release of The Matrix Reloaded on May 15. "The Matrix

North America and 12 screens internationally, grossing $12.4 million worldwide

"Following the unprecedented audience response and box office performance of
'The Matrix Reloaded: The IMAX Experience,' we couldn't be happier to offer
fans the chance to see 'The Matrix Revolutions: The IMAX Experience' on the
same day as we open 'Revolutions' in 35mm," Dan Fellman said.

Ducati is teaming up with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to produce a limited
edition Ducati 998 and Ducati Monster 620, each inspired by The Matrix Reloaded
TM. The motorcycles will be on display at the Ducati stand at the Milano trade
show, EICMA (September 16-21), and available for model year 2004 at Ducati Stores
and other Ducati dealerships around the world.
Warner Bros. Pictures' and Village Roadshow Pictures' action blockbuster The
Matrix Reloaded TM is the second chapter in the Wachowski Brothers' revolutionary
film trilogy. The worldwide blockbuster features a dramatic road chase on a
Ducati Superbike.
The Ducati Superbike is celebrated for its design in countless museums and for
its performance on racetracks all over the world. In its various versions, The
Ducati Superbike has won more Superbike Championship races than the competition
combined. The Ducati Monster has become a cult bike that invented a whole class
of motorcycle: the sport naked bike. The Ducati Monster Matrix 620 tweaks the
category with a spectacular Matrix livery, special paint and graphics. It is
instantly the most desirable urban street fighter around.
"Ducati is thrilled to be a part of this hugely exciting film franchise," said
David Gross, Ducati Creative Director. "The Matrix Superbike and the Monster
Matrix 620 capture all of the thrill of high performance sport motorcycling
and the spirit of The Matrix TM. Sport bikes and blockbuster movies just don't
get any bigger than this."
"We were pleased to use Ducati Superbikes in creating the unprecedented Freeway
Chase sequence in The Matrix Reloaded TM, and we're even more excited that two
Ducati motorcycles inspired by the film will now be available to our fans,"
said Joel Silver, producer of the Matrix ™ trilogy. "Like the visionary action
and visceral storytelling that power the Wachowski Brothers' trilogy, Ducati
motorcycles represent innovation, singular style and cutting-edge performance."
This fall, Ducati will celebrate the launch of the Ducati Matrix motorcycles
and The Matrix Reloaded TM DVD with a series of global events. In the Netherlands,
the retailer Bijenkorf, the leading specialty retailer in Holland, will display
the Ducati Matrix 998 at their flagship location in Amsterdam at DAM Square,
across from the Palace. Ducati France will launch The Matrix night during the
week of the Paris Motor Show from the 25th of September to the 5th of October.
400,000 visitors are expected.
October 14 marks the highly anticipated DVD release of the record-shattering

box office to date. Warner Home Video's October 14 street date makes The Matrix
Reloaded TM available to fans three weeks before the theatrical release of the
final explosive chapter in the phenomenal Matrix TM trilogy, The Matrix Revolutions
TM, on November 5.

SYDNEY WANTS CAST MEMBERS
Source: <Sydney
Morning Herald>
A big effort is being made to secure the
stars of The Matrix for the Sydney premiere of the trilogy's last instalment,
due to open at local cinemas on November 6.
There were plenty of disappointed Matrix fans earlier this year when the only
folk to be found walking the red carpet at Fox Studios for the premiere of The
Matrix Reloaded were the usual tragic array of local soapie stars and professional
partygoers.
Where was Keanu Reeves? Where was Larry - sorry - Laurence Fishburne, and Carrie-Anne
Moss? And what about Hugo Weaving? He even lives here, for goodness' sake.
Turns out the big four were required for the Hollywood premiere at the Mann
Village Theatre, which took place only days before the Sydney shindig.
A similar conflict is shaping up this time, with the US release date for The
Matrix Revolutions being November 5.
Because all three films were shot in Sydney, however, there's a strong possibility
Hollywood will get the shove and our four stars will be on a first-class flight
from LAX to make the opening of Revolutions one of the don't-miss events of
the year.
It's all still To Be Confirmed.

MOTHER CARRIE-ANNE
Source: <Telegraaf>
Carrie-Anne has become a mother. Here's
a translated newspaper article:
The Matrix actress Carrie-Anne Moss gave birth to her first child a few days
ago. She didn't reveal the gender or the name of the baby...
Father of the child is husband and actor Steven Roy. Moss had already decided
that she'd work less hard when the child was born. "I'll never be seen in a
project as huge as The Matrix. I don't want to be away from home for that long.
The work is too hard and a huge physical and mental burden. In the end I'd like
to be a full-time mother, who once in a while has some work to do. Acting can
give me that freedom."
Matrixfansite.com would like to congratulate Carrie-Anne and Steven with
their baby. Good luck to you all in the future!

REVOLUTIONS PREMIERES AT DISNEY HALL
Source: <Variety>
Thanks to: <Countingdown>
September 11, 2003 — Variety reports that
The Matrix Revolutions will premiere at Disney Hall on October 27th. Producer
Joel Silver is a friend of Architect Frank Gehry, and had this to say about
premiering the film at the venue:
"This is the right building for 'The Matrix Revolutions'. Frank Gehry has a
very cinematic style of architecture. People will be blown away by the space
and by the picture. When the lights go down, you'll be in the world of the Matrix;
when they come up, you'll be in the world of Frank Gehry, which is some futuristic
place that is not now."
The film opens nationwide on November 5.

SGI INFINITE STORAGE FOR REVOLUTIONS
Source: <Yahoo
Business>
Thanks to: <Countingdown>
September 10, 2003 — Tippett Studio has
purchased a Silicon Graphics storage device that made SFX work on Revolutions
go faster:
"The beauty of the SGI InfiniteStorage system is that it enables us to utilize
our legacy storage as well as provide a very flexible system that allows us
to scale the amount of storage that's on the SAN," said Dan McNamara, head of
operations, Tippett Studio. "We can also scale the number of SGI CXFS clients
on the SAN. So, if we are bound in terms of the number of the NFS ops the servers
can handle, then we can also scale those up appropriately. We're working on
a couple of specific sequences for The Matrix: Revolutions that are entirely
computer graphics-generated with a very high level of detail. That's pretty
hard on a production pipeline, but SGI CXFS easily performs the heavy lifting
and improves production speeds admirably."

METAPHILM ANIMATRIX ANALYSIS
Source: <Metaphilm>
A few weeks ago Metaphilm posted an
Animatrix analysis by Zachary Westbrook, who, at age 18, has done a better job
interpreting the ANIMATRIX than anyone else they've seen. Here's a clip:
“Fly, Baby. Fly!” These are the last words the captain of the Osiris speaks
to his lover as she enters the Matrix.
The image of the Osiris peering over the ocean of Sentinels as they dig toward
the last human city of Zion may seem like a simple prologue to The Matrix Reloaded,
but in fact it is the most striking image of Evil Superpower vs. Benevolent
Little Guy since the Tiananmen Square riots.
“The Final Flight of the Osiris” is a tale of love, honor, bravery, sacrifice,
the dream of every true warrior: to die in the throws of savage combat against
an innumerable enemy. It is the story of Alexander the Great’s father. It is
the story of Russia’s class system as told by Marx. It is the story of Napoleon’s
checkbook.
As Machiavelli so eloquently noted, it is best to be loved by your subjects
and feared by your enemies. Militarily, fear gives you a strategic advantage,
while loving subjects will protect you from assassination. Cinegraphically,
this is best seen in Enemy at the Gates. The Russian army, threatened with death
if they retreat, is facing the German army, which has caviar brought in with
the rest of their rations, and it’s losing until the heroic shepherd boy from
the Urals becomes the loved figurehead of the resistance.
